My Little Sorrow by Albert Hogan Yeah I swore this would never of happened again I swore it was sunny in the back garden then I was looking for something then you came along to the sound of a siren, ninety alarms Now forever I'll run, From my little sorrow Cause i've seen it too much And I'll feel it tomorrow So you tell me don't worry That we're in no hurry But I know you'll be better then Chorus All through the night, I'll be watching her sleeping All through the day, she keeps her eyes on me Tell the rag and bone man, Take what he can Get it all away Cause i've already landed at her feet So you tell me don't worry That we're in no hurry But I know you'll be better then Chorus All through the night, I'll be watching her sleeping All through the day, she keeps her eyes on me So you tell me don't worry That we're in no hurry But I know we'll be better then

Talk Me Through It by Albert Hogan Lift me off my side Get going with the wind as the crow she flies You're immune to days like these It doesn't mean you'll always be Washed up with the tide Afraid to get back in again Why dance when you know how it ends Why dance when you don't make friends I cannot speak To build that bridge That you seek Chorus So talk me through it one more time Talk me through it one more time Instead of acting clever Let her in Now the moments passed It seemed to fade like some dead thing Where you stand the air gets thin It doesn't make me like you more Washed up with the tide Afraid to get back in again Why dance when you know how it ends
3.
Trombone by Albert Hogan So you blow trombone in the dark Neon Lights, a fallen soldier And the strangers that you greet Pass you by on ragged feet So you locked the door to your heart From the start a poison arrow I see the madness in your eye its no surprise Its outrageous we're all at sea A tiny slice staring back at me Blow the cobbs, ride the wave It must be Love Chorus Don't sweat it baby Don't sweat it baby now So you blow trombone in the dark Neon Lights, raises eyebrows You feel the room spinning harder now Wipe that sweat off your brow So you locked the door to your heart From the start, his talk was hollow you see that birds already flown In the night and with the wind that's blowing
4.
House Of Plenty by Albert Hogan Which way to the house of plenty Ask the ones who return along the road It's always fun until you see how far they go You'll have to carry this alone It's the month for being sorry Todays the day they'll be mapping out your crimes These delays well they must be yours and mine Youll have to carry this alone You'll have to play them to the bone Safe and sound you loose your reason Wallow in this evil season Time to take another one Time to run Chorus City sky, you are the apple of my eye So dangerous and terrified Escaping from the crowds Misfortunes will visit others You welcome visitors with less then open arms It’s the eyes that always triggers your alarm Reaching for the bible in the draw Some tales are cautionary Tell them slow so you never loose their ears You can’t go until you pay them back the years You’ll have to carry this alone You’ll have to play them to the bone Safe and sound you loose your reason Wallow in this evil season Time to take another one Time to run Chorus City sky, you are the apple of my eye So dangerous and terrified Escaping from the crowds
5.
Natural Light by Albert Hogan Oh natural light Shines through my window Was it all the rocks in the city Holding hands all stuck in self pitty I wonder why These feet keep stumbling Was it all the things I was doing Set us on a path to ruin Chorus Satisfy, satisfy my broken heart Cause when you're living on your own And there's no one to control Oh natural light Its coming in through my window Was it all the things I was doing Set us on a path to ruin Chorus Satisfy, satisfy my broken heart Cause when you're living on your own And there's no one to control Where you gonna go When there's no one to control Oh natural light
6.
Get Out While You Can by Albert Hogan I’ve crossed you once before I’ve passed your wreckage Through the streets that bares The names of some forgotten wars Are wars were fought and lost Through faded empty bars And that place you swore You’d like to put a match to I’ll tell you where I am Your smile is a weapon Your tales of suitors Passed and present Falling short But when the street lights change You can see the Then I drank all the long I smashed your window When your phone wasn’t on And it was lost and passed and gone Then I passed your wreckage Get out while you can Get out while you can Lord have mercy Have mercy on this man These boots are heavy still They might need shining And the wind blows through this jacket That you’ve seen before Curled up on your floor The night you danced salami Through your bedroom Chorus Get out while you can Get out while you can Lord have mercy Have mercy on this man

about

My new album “Exit The House Of Plenty” is the culmination of an exciting journey I began in 2007 years ago in New york with my co-writer Sean Casey and guitar player Coner O Brian. We were in New York at the time on a record label deal, working with JP Bowerstock (The Strokes) at Mark Danns studio in Woodstock. At that time we wrote a couple of the songs you will find on this new album. Those songs were never released before because, since they occupy a special place in my heart, I have been looking for the right people to work with to bring them to life.

Francis Gorini (producer) and I wanted to make this album with the help of musicians at the top of their games. The making of “Exit The House Of Plenty” has felt like a very special moment in both our lives and together with the musicians involved we have turned this record into our best release to date.

We felt that drums were going to be at the heart of these songs and we were lucky to get Alex Reeves (Elbow) arranging and playing them. We recorded the drums at Alex's studio and it was a pleasure to see him live working on the songs.

Than it was the turn of my friend and incredible guitar player Conor O'Brien to lay down electric guitars and for that we really wanted a very special place that would help us capture the right mood. That is why we went to record at Hand Studio with Chris. Chris made us feel at home and the whole process was great.

Francis suggested Pete Scott for the piano parts. We were delighted when we heard his arrangements. Sara Mecci and her vocals were perfect for the backing vocals.
Francis then worked his magic at his London Mixing Studio and the journey was completed.

I could not be more proud of all the material recorded with Francis but this one feels special as it was done during a time of uncertainty for everyone. The process has been tense and exciting, everything I could have hoped for. I cannot thank these guys enough for working on my songs.

I have a lot more material to get out there and we are ready to get things moving again.
